At Copart, we provide 2 options to allow you to sell vehicle with us:
Saved Searches
Search queries can be built using our Vehicle Finder by applying different filters to search, such as make, model, category and auction locations, as well as many other filter options. This search query can then be saved for quick use, meaning that you don’t have to manually enter the search filters each time you want to run the same vehicle search.
Vehicle Alerts are emails notifying you of the latest vehicles we add to our inventory based on what you’re looking for.
You can cancel alerts at any time or change the frequency to suit your needs. You can also set up as many alerts as you want.
By signing up for Vehicle Alerts, you are consenting to receive Vehicle Alert emails. To unsubscribe from a Vehicle Alert email, click the unsubscribe link within the footer of the email.
Please note, that if you wish to unsubscribe from all Vehicle Alerts you have set up, you will need to unsubscribe from each one individually.
Your Watchlist is designed to help you keep track of the sale date, lot number, vehicle description and current bid status of every vehicle you choose to bid on or monitor.
You can keep up to date with any changes without the need to search for the vehicle.
You can access it quickly and easily from your account via your Member Dashboard.
Keep track of your bidding activity. Any time you place a preliminary bid on a vehicle, the vehicle is then automatically added to your Watchlist.
You can also add a vehicle to your Watchlist from any vehicle’s lot information page or from our Vehicle Finder search results.
Use our calculator to work out the total cost of a vehicle before bidding at auction.
As with any vehicle auction, additional fees will be applied to the sale price of the vehicle. These fees are displayed on our Member Fees page and will change depending on the amount you bid.
Using the Total Cost Estimate Calculator
To easily calculate the total cost of a vehicle, use our calculator tool. Simply log in to your online account and go to the Member Fees page or any vehicle’s Lot Details page and click on The Total Cost Estimate Calculator option.
Type in the price you are willing to bid at auction. If you are unsure of what you will bid, type in the maximum price that you are willing to bid, so you can get an idea of the maximum amount you will pay. It will display a total price for you, along with a breakdown of the different fees. Please remember that the total price is only an estimate.
At Copart, all bids are final, so it’s important to make sure that you are happy with your maximum bid price before bidding at auction.
Submitted the wrong maximum bid value by mistake in the preliminary bidding stage? Edit your bid amount using our ‘Mistyped Bid’ button. The maximum bid price that you are amending can’t be lower than the current bid amount.
As an example, the current bid is £500, and you place a bid of £7,000 instead of £700. You can now click on the Mistyped Bid button, enter your bid of £700 and confirm your bid. You cannot delete your bid, and you cannot enter a bid lower than the current bid amount.
The Mistyped Bid button will only be available up until an hour before auctions begin (this will be either 9am or 11.30am, depending on which auction the desired lot is allocated to).
How does it work?
Find the lot you bid too much for on your Dashboard and click on the lot to open the lot information page. If applicable, you will then see the Mistyped Bid option. This will not appear if Monster Bid has been used or from an hour before the auction, including your Lot, begins:
From here, you can input the revised amount and press confirm.
You will then see confirmation of your new Maximum Bid:
Monster Bid
The Monster Bid button can be used when you have a specific amount in mind that you wish to pay for the vehicle.
Please note – Bids placed using the Monster Bid button cannot be amended using the Mistyped Bid function. Monster Bids do not use incremental bidding.
The Lane Alerts notifications have been designed to alert you via text, mobile app, or desktop when our auctions are about to start.
There are two types of alerts: Auction Level and Lot Level. At this point in time, Lane Alerts is only available to Members who have purchased 12 vehicles or less in the last 12 months.
The Auction Level notifications will notify you 15 minutes before an auction is about to commence.
The Lot Level notifications will notify you 5 minutes before an auction is about to start and will take you to the ‘Auctions Today’ page, where you will see all the Lots you have on your Watchlist and/or any Lots you have a pre-bid on.
Please be aware that no push notifications will be turned on by default; you will need to enable them.
