Pre-Auction Checks

Whether you’re planning to bid on a vehicle to keep, sell on, repair, or strip for parts, we always recommend that you complete some background research prior to placing your online bid.

To complete some of these checks you will need the Vehicle Registration Number (VRN). This can be found by logging into your Copart account and going to the Lot details page.

Download a Vehicle Report

We’ve partnered with Automotive Software Solutions so that we can offer all registered, active Members a free comprehensive, independent vehicle report on most of the cars we have available for sale in our online auctions (excluding Category B cars).

The FREE vehicle reports contain vehicle history information including:

• Factory specifications

• Vehicle technical reports

• Vehicle history

• Mileage

• MOT history

This is in addition to the extensive information we currently provide on all our lot pages.

Visit the Vehicle Reports page for more information.

Copart Checks

  • Review the high-quality images provided on the Copart website or via the Copart App, including our 360° feature (if available).
  • Determine the category type, damage type and odometer reading. Check the VAT information, see if there is a V5 on file and check if keys are included.

Arrange a Virtual Vehicle Viewing Appointment

Our virtual viewing appointments allow you to view a vehicle from the comfort of your home or office.

To book your slot, simply log in to your paid member account, visit the lot details page of the vehicle you want to view, and click on the “Vehicle Report” link. From there, select your time slot on the calendar, enter your details, and pay.

A Copart teammate will video call you and give you a live tour of your chosen vehicle. You will have the opportunity to request to be shown the interior and exterior of the vehicle, including any areas of damage or concern you may have, and we will start the engine (if possible).

Please note – if you are calling for additional lot information not specified on the listing, you will be advised to book a Virtual Vehicle Viewing appointment.

Your appointment must be booked at least 48 hours in advanceand cannot take place on the day of the auction.
