Buying Fees

As with all auctions, there are additional fees to purchasing a vehicle with us. We use these fees to invest in your Membership experience, making it the best that it can be. 

Additional fees will be applied to the total cost that you have bid on a vehicle, please consider these prior to bidding. These include but are not limited to: 

Sale Price – The final bid price. The winning bid for the vehicle. 

Buyer Fee – Member fees are based on final vehicle sale price, payment method and purchase volume. Please see our Member Fees page for more detail. 

Internet Bid Fee – The price of bidding in the auction. 

Lot Retrieval Fee – Applied to all vehicles. This fee covers the movement of the vehicle from the sale/storage area to the loading area of Copart UK’s Operation Centre, sub lot or offsite sale location. 

You may be able to take advantage of our lower fees when you have purchased 12 or more vehicles, and they have left our premises, in the previous calendar year.

So, when exactly do I pay these fees?

Once a vehicle has been won you have 6 calendar days, including the day the vehicle invoice is placed on your account, in which to pay for the vehicle and all fees in full. As an example, a vehicle won on Monday must be paid in full by Saturday.

Please note: The cut off time for payments to reach and be applied by Copart on the same working day is 4pm.

Late Payment Fee:

This will be applied if payment in full is not made within 3 business days, including the day the vehicle invoice is placed on your account. As an example, a vehicle won on Monday must be paid in full by Wednesday to avoid paying a £50 late payment fee.

Example: The vehicle invoice is placed on your account on Tuesday. You now have 3 business days to make payment for the vehicle. If the vehicle has not been paid for by 5pm on Thursday, a late payment fee will apply.

Example: The vehicle invoice is placed on your account on Thursday. You now have 3 business days to make payment for the vehicle. If the vehicle has not been paid for by 5pm on Monday, a late payment fee will apply.

Relist Fee:

If a vehicle is not paid in full within 6 calendar days, including weekends and UK Bank Holidays, it will be removed from your account and a relist fee invoice will be applied. The relist fee is 10% of the high bid or £300, whichever is the higher. Your account may then be suspended until the relist fee invoice is paid in full.

Example: The vehicle invoice is placed on your account on Tuesday. You now have 6 calendar days, including any UK Bank Holidays and weekends, to make full payment (inc. any late payment fees) for the vehicle. If payment is not received, a relist fee will be applied to your account on Monday.

Bank Holiday 

Example: The vehicle invoice is placed on your account on the Thursday before a Bank Holiday. You are still required to make payment within 6 calendar days. If payment is not received, a relist fee will be applied to your account on Wednesday.

Should a vehicle relist prior to payment being made, please contact the Member Services Team on 01234 765459, as they may be able to re-assign it to your account if the vehicle is still available. Payment would then need to reach us by 4pm that same day. It cannot be guaranteed that a vehicle will still be available, as it may have already sold. Should the vehicle have sold, you will still be liable for the relist fee.

Storage Fee:

Where a vehicle is not collected, storage fees will be charged for weekends and UK Bank Holidays unless the weekend or holiday occurs within the first 3 days of the auction.
